TED Talk

I do not completely agree with Niall Ferguson. I do agree that a few of these "apps" are major factors for the Great Diversion, such as competition and the Scientific Revolution, but I do not believe that the Great Diversion can be merely based on these six factors. I believe that competition and the Scientific Revolution were major factors because the motivation behind each was to simply see who could innovate better. However, including the other apps, there would definitely have to be more factors as to why the Great Diversion occurred.

Christianity, and capitalism

Christianity keeps splitting up because as it spreads, people may adopt new ideas. They then incorporate these ideas into the religion, and thus it has split into a different branch. This may occur many times, depending on the way it spreads. If people are adopting it completely, then it will not split. However, if they are adopting it in different ways, then it will split.

Capitalism is a term I'm familiar with, but I don't really know its meaning. I know that it has to do with government, and maybe economy.
